What makes the DigniCap™ system unique?
The DigniCap™ system has been developed based on clinical experiences at the University Hospitals in Umeå and Lund. Understandning the needs of patients and staff, it has been possible to make the system gentle and efficient while simultaneously being carefully controlled, practical and easy to operate.
Controlled stability
The temperature sensors in the cooling cap are unique for DigniCap™. These make the system self-regulating, which gives constant and stable cooling.
Safety
The safety sensor in the cooling cap guarantees that the temperature does not fall to a dangerously low level. The system is CE-labeled in accordance with the Medical Devices Directive (MDD, class IIa).
Efficiency
Two patients can be treated simultaneously, but totally independent of each other, in the same system.
Personal settings
Based on the patient’s wishes and needs, the time to reach treatment temperature can be prolonged or shortened. Scalp temperature can also be regulated. A lower temperature is recommended for patients with thick hair.
Patient comfort
The silicone cap is tried on and placed on the patient’s head when it keeps room temperature, then the temperature gradually decreases during 20-30 minutes. This makes it possible for the body to adapt to the cold and makes the treatment a more comfortable experience for the patient.
The special design of the caps leaves the ears free, which makes it possible to use earphones during the treatment and allows conversation.
Staff comfort
The system is easy to use, with understandable and uncomplicated symbols on the touch screen. Very little maintenance and inspection is required, which is appreciated by healthcare staff.
These features means that scalp cooling with the DigniCap™ system gives impressive results: More than 80% of the patients have kept their hair during chemotherapy!
