In January 2009 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and the doctor told me that I had to undergo an operation and six treatments with cytostatics. One of the known side effects is losing your hair.

The doctor recommended me to try the cooling cap to counteract hair loss. I had heard a lot of negative things about the cooling cap, that it was very difficult to wear it and things like that. But that was not how it felt for me! The trickiest bit was the first 30 minutes when the cap had to be cooled down to about 3 degrees. After that I didn’t feel it really.

After two treatments I went to a wig maker to try out a wig, just in case. when I was there they wanted to shave my hair off, since they thought it was going to fall out any day anyway. I wasn’t ready to do that and decided to wait and see. Now, after four treatments, I still have a lot of my hair left, thanks to DigniCap™!

Losing my hair is maybe a minor thing in all this, but not losing it is one less worry. I don’t have to ask myself, “What shall I have on my head when I go out today?”
